IN 1897, A SMALL TIGER CUB NAMED SASHA LIVED IN A COMMUNE IN SIAM NOW KNOW AS MODERN DAY THAILAND. WHEN POACHERS, SEEKING TO CAPTURE THE TALKING TIGERS, ATTACKED THE VILLAGE, SASHA WAS SEPARATED FROM HER MOTHER AND BROTHER AND EVENTUALLY RESCUED BY THE CREW OF THE AMERICAN CLIPPER SHIP THE SOLARIS AND CAPTAIN SETH WILKERSON.
